My beautiful 9 year old daughter, Alexandrea “Sissy” Thompson, was murdered in 2017 and became a donor. She was an incredibly thoughtful, generous, and considerate child. When I was approached about her being a donor, it was the only easy decision I made during that tragic time. Given her kind personality and compassionate nature, I was confident she would have been happy to know how she helped so many people with her gifts through tissue and cornea donation. I thank her for making me a proud donor mother.

My brother, Ethan, received a heart transplant at 10 months old. He was 3 years old when he passed, but he was given a little extra time on this earth, thanks to the transplant. My mom always said, listening to his heart was a constant reminder that he’s here because of someone else. Ethan is our beautiful guardian angel. I’ll forever be his voice to give thanks and to be an advocate for donation.
