April is National Donate Life Month

In 2025, Let Life Sing! Birds have long been a symbol of renewal, hope, and connection—welcomed signs of spring that remind us of both new beginnings and the lasting presence of those we’ve lost. Their songs bring comfort, just as the gift of organ, tissue, and eye donation brings healing and second chances to those in need.

This Donate Life Month, we honor the selfless individuals who have given the gift of life and recognize the profound impact of donation. With over 104,000 people waiting for a lifesaving transplant, raising awareness is more important than ever.

Network for Hope will be present each day, sharing stories, sparking conversations, and spreading our mission of transforming lives through donation. Together, we can inspire hope, encourage action, and let life’s song continue for those still waiting.

Living Donor Day

Wednesday, April 2nd

Donate Life Living Donor Day honors living organ and tissue donors for saving and healing lives!

In 2024, more than 7,000 people made the decision to give one of their kidneys or a part of their liver to someone waiting for a second chance at life. Others gave the healing gift of birth tissue. Birth tissue includes tissues such as placenta and amniotic membrane. Grafts derived from birth tissue promote natural wound healing.

Blue & Green Spirit Week

April 5th – 12th

Blue & Green Spirit Week is a celebration that raises public awareness about organ, eye, and tissue donation. Show your support throughout the week by participating in themed activities, share inspiring stories, and wearing blue and green to honor donors, recipients, and those waiting for a transplant.

Blue & Green Day

Friday, April 11th

On National Donate Life Blue & Green Day, people across the country are encouraged to wear blue and green to show their support for organ, tissue, and eye donation, honor donors, celebrate recipients, and inspire others to register as donors. Through social media campaigns, community events, and personal stories, Blue & Green Day spreads hope and highlights the life-saving power of donation.

Share Your Decision Day

Saturday, April 12th

Share Your Decision Day, which also concludes Blue & Green Spirit Week, is dedicated to encouraging people to register as organ, tissue, and eye donors—and to share their decision with family and friends. By having these important conversations, individuals can ensure their wishes are known and inspire others to help save lives through donation.

National Pediatric Transplant Week

April 20th – 26th

National Pediatric Transplant Week highlights the needs of children awaiting organ, tissue, and eye transplants. This week honors pediatric donors, celebrates young recipients, and raises awareness of organ donation for children. Through storytelling, education, and advocacy, it shares the hope and healing transplantation brings to young lives.
