Jeanne Sisler, Recipient Family

My husband had a double lung transplant.

We signed up to have a transplant. It took a while but it was like God picked us up from our home and set us down in a strange land. It was Madison, Wisconsin and we grew to love it but it wasn’t home. I left all my family and my church but they made lots of visits to see us. I had a great granddaughter that we were raising and my son, her uncle, kept her that whole year. She was like 4. When he got the call, two of my boys and my grandson were there. And even my great granddaughter. It was stressful for sure but Paul died last year. But we had him almost 8 years longer than we would have. I consider our family blessed. We had a great pastor there and a wonderful church family.
