April is National Donate Life Month, a meaningful time to honor organ, tissue, and eye donors and their families, celebrate recipients and their transplant journeys, and uplift those still waiting for their lifesaving gift who share these powerful stories, while also recognizing the dedicated healthcare teams who make lifesaving donation and transplantation possible.
This year’s theme, Leave a Legacy, reminds us that like a tree, one decision can grow into something far greater than ourselves.
Today, more than 108,000 people across the country are waiting for a second chance at life. Join us in celebrating the power of hope in action.

Let’s come together to honor donors, recipients, and the power of organ, tissue, and eye donation.
April 1st is Donate Life Living Donor Day. 💚 Living donors are real-life heroes. Their decision gives someone else a second chance at life.
In the U.S., about 6,800 people become living donors each year. In 2025, that number grew to 7,236.
National Donate Life Blue & Green Day on April 10th is like the Super Bowl for Team Blue and Green! Wear it, decorate with it, fly it, tie ribbons, you name it. If it’s blue and green, it counts.
From hospitals and workplaces to classrooms, kitchen tables and your favorite team mascots, we love seeing the creativity and spirit that fills this day. Every ribbon, shirt, flag, and decoration is a reminder of the donor heroes who gave the gift of life and the recipients whose lives were forever changed.
April 19th kicks off National Pediatric Transplant Week, a time to reflect on the youngest patients waiting for a second chance at life.
Right now, more than 2,000 children in the United States are waiting for a life-saving transplant, and 27% of them are under the age of five. Behind every number is a child, a family and a future waiting to unfold.
This week also honors the children whose lives have been saved through transplantation and the young donor heroes whose gifts made those second chances possible.
April 30th is National Donor Remembrance Day. 💚 A day to pause and honor the donors who gave the gift of life and the families who made that decision in a moment of unimaginable loss.
We also invite you to take part in the Forget-Me-Not Garden, a national tribute where families can plant a forget-me-not flower in a garden or virtually share ‘🌷’ to honor their loved one. A small symbol of remembrance that lives not only in a garden, but in our hearts.
