My younger brother at 14 was in a severe dirt bike accident that caused traumatic facial injuries. He received donor tissue during his facial reconstructive surgery. Knowing that someone gave him that gift, I wish they could see my brother’s smile. Now, he’s a paramedic, and my role at Network for Hope is recovering tissue gifts. I love and respect the donors as if they are my own.

Thanks to a social media post from a childhood friend, I was able to save someone’s life. I donated my left kidney to my childhood friend’s dad. Our kidneyversary is April 20, 2023, and he is doing better than ever. The whole experience has been a blessing for the both of us and through this journey, I have gained new family members for a lifetime.
