June: Sgt. Keith Belcher, Tissue Recipient. 8-years post-transplant. Featured in 2014 Calendar.

I am a police sergeant with the City of Milford. I received my Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) tissue graft in 2014. I was injured while participating in my agency’s physical fitness course. While I was still on the ground clutching my left knee, all I could think about was “how long will this keep me off the streets?” I have worked for the City of Milford since 1999 and have truly found it to not only be a calling but a passion as well. When you enter into law enforcement for the right reasons, there is truly no better job to have. You get to help and protect people on a daily basis. My wife, Lisa, has been employed at Bethesda North Hospital for 25 years, and she was very familiar with LifeCenter. She has always had the utmost respect for the services they provide. When I was informed that I would be receiving an ACL graft, she immediately told me that I would be in good hands. On my way home from surgery, I had her stop and buy a Thank You card so I could send it to my donor family. LifeCenter helped me get back to the job I love and for that I am forever grateful.
